Our Technology
The most recent dental technologies Govani Dental is proud to offer are digital impressions using the TRIOS handheld 3D scanner and the new digital Cone Beam (CBCT) using the Kavo OP 3-D. These technologies allows us to consistently provide our patients with the most progressive treatment and timely experiences. Digital Impressions: TRIOS Handheld 3-D Scanner
The new color wireless TRIOS handheld 3D scanner allows for more efficient, clean, and precise digital impressions. This state-of-the art scanner safely takes thousands of images per minute. There, allowing Dr. Govani to best acquire important imaging and information needed to provide the highest standard of care possible.
Digital impressions use safe picture technology to capture a detailed 3D color image of a patient’s entire smile in as little as 30 seconds without the traditional impression material. Therefore, reducing saliva flow, risk of coughing and much less aerosols. Once the ‘scan’ is complete, it allows Dr. Govani and her lab team to be provided with an accurate 3D representation of the patient’s mouth.
The TRIOS handheld 3D scanner is beneficial for patients who may be anxious or experience nervousness or discomfort with the taste and texture of traditional impression material. Most importantly, it takes less time than ever before. The digital impression experience allows for less gagging and discomfort, allowing a more pleasant dental experience. With the rapid image quality visits are shorter and less frequent due to the accuracy. Intra-Oral Cameras
All of the operatories at Govani Dental are equipped with state-of-the-art intra-oral cameras. An intra-oral camera allows us to give our patients a ‘tour’ of their mouth in real time. You’ll be able to see what we see.
The intra-oral camera is a great tool for Dr. Govani and her team to educate patient about their mouth. The pictures can show patients tooth decay, cracked teeth and provide education to all our patients. The camera takes pictures, which can be brought up on the monitor to show our patients any discrepancies in their teeth or gums. In addition, the images taken can be used to strengthen and offer full transparency with insurance claims.
Digital X-Rays
Dental x-rays are an essential preventative and diagnostic tool that provides valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam. We use digital technology for single films, Panorex and Cone Beam (CBCT) imaging, which allows us to offer the best image quality. In addition, this allows with the least radiation possible and no chemicals utilized. We pride ourselves in providing the highest standard of care possible.
Benefits of digital x ray are the reduction of exposure time, less radiation and less aerosols, thereby reducing patient risk. Having a digital experience provides our patients a more time efficient visit. Because images are instant, instead of having to wait for developing. Patients appreciate they can see their images chair side and be engaged in findings and treatment recommendations.
KAVO OP 3D Imaging System
At Govani Dental we take pride in providing the best care possible for our patients. To do this we are always looking at new technology to help improve both diagnosis and treatments. With this all in mind we would like to share with you our newest technology, the KAVO OP 3D imaging system. This Cone Beam or CBCT offers Dr. Govani the ability to look in 3-D at vital structures, evaluate bone and anatomy needed to develop the best treatment plan. We’re thrilled to have this technology as a part of our office.
Sterilization
At Govani Dental, we have state-of-art sterilization equipment to maintain the highest level of sterilization possible. We base our decisions and protocols off recommendations from the CDC and OSHA. In addition, our team has annual formal OSHA training and monthly meetings on expectations. Dr. Govani and her team strive to provide the most clean and safe environment at all times. Autoclave steam sterilization- All instruments are sterilized after every use, protecting your health.
Our Process
All instruments are properly washed, dried and sterilized in a hospital grade sterilizer, to best protect our patients and our staff. In addition, our machines undergo daily checks, along with weekly and monthly maintenance. We regularly test all machines with spore testing to ensure optimal sterilization.
