(Oshkosh, Wis.)— Dr. Shaheda Govani, owner of Govani Dental, was one of 350 dentists from the United States and abroad inducted as a Fellow into the International College of Dentists (ICD) Class of 2019. She was inducted into the USA Section during a convocation ceremony Sept. 6 in San Francisco, Calif.
Govani joins more than 11,000 members worldwide and 6,500 U.S. members in the Fellowship, which recognizes and promotes leadership in the dental field. Just 3% of U.S. dentists are selected for this elite honor.
“I’m thrilled to have been nominated and selected for this distinguished Fellowship,” Dr. Govani said. “Sharing this honor with thousands of professionals who are so highly regarded in the dental field is humbling and certainly one of the highlights of my career.”
Becoming a Fellow is selective—candidates must have demonstrated a commitment to career-long service, humanitarianism and education. Dentists chosen for Fellowship also must be in practice for at least five years, an American Dental Association member in good standing, an active contributor to the dental profession and community, held in high regard for integrity and character, and a graduate of an ICD-recognized school.
